What is the function of high-voltage isolation switch
Isolation switch, which may be unfamiliar to many friends, is also commonly used in industrial fields such as substations and power plants. Some power station construction sites also use it, so it is also a very important type of switch.



1. The characteristic of this type of switch with high voltage isolation is that it has no arc extinguishing ability and can only perform circuit opening and closing when there is no load current operation. High voltage isolation switches can be used for various voltage levels to change circuit connections and isolate line equipment from the power supply, but they do not have a cut-off effect. As long as other equipment is used to disconnect the line in advance before operation.



2. High voltage isolating switches are allowed to operate for a long time under the rated current and voltage conditions during use, but the temperature of the connection head with the conductor cannot exceed 70 ℃ during operation. Generally, there is no specialized arc extinguishing device installed at the high voltage isolating switch.



3. The main function of the high voltage isolation switch is to ensure safe operation of high voltage electrical appliances and devices during maintenance, and to isolate high voltage. It cannot be used to cut off current, input load current, or disconnect short-circuit current, but can only be used for some switching operations that do not generate strong arcs.



4. High voltage isolated switches without arc extinguishing function can be divided into indoor and outdoor types according to the installation location. They can also be divided into single column, double column, and three column types based on the number of insulation pillars. The appropriate selection should be made according to different voltage levels.
